If you are on this page, you may be at a point of transition or self-discovery in your life. Maybe, you feel unseen and unheard, or you’ve found yourself in cycles of anxiety and people-pleasing that you want to break free from. We all have a voice worth hearing and a story worth telling, and I am here to support you in your journey of gaining insight and living by your values. I am person-centred and intersectional, meaning I will approach you as an individual with a unique story and unique goals — informed by your social identities but beyond any particular mental health diagnosis or label. I am committed to providing a validating space for you to express yourself and be heard. I primarily use acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative techniques, and relational work. My firsthand experience as a queer and transgender person of colour shapes who I am as a person and as a therapist. I am also a creative, so while I am not a music therapist, I am open to incorporating music and art into sessions if that resonates with you.

As a queer and transgender South Asian person who grew up in Texas, I understand what it can be like to feel invisible and unheard by the people around you. I have always been drawn to psychology (and music for that matter) because it provides insight into us as human beings and why we are the way we are. Thus, becoming a psychotherapist felt like a logical next step. I look forward to helping more people find their voices, express themselves, form connections, and live by the values that give their lives meaning. Outside of therapy, I enjoy experiencing the things that bring my life more colour: being with family, acting, eating good food, and listening to and writing music.

Approaching therapy from a place of collaboration and non-judgment is my ultimate goal. I want our space to be one filled with empathy and flexibility to address whatever topics feel most important to you. In a few words, I would characterize my sessions as person-centred, compassionate, exploratory, and values-driven. To collaboratively cultivate insight and figure out how to channel it into building blocks for a more meaningful life, our sessions would pull from acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, and relational-cultural theory. I am happy to talk more about what this could look like since every person’s needs and wants for therapy are different.
