Headshot of Haniel Davy, Guelph therapist offering affordable therapy

Are you looking for support with life transitions, cultural adjustment, or grief?

If the cost of therapy been holding you back, Haniel offers affordable therapy.

  • Life can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face it alone. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, relationship challenges, grief, or a season that feels heavy or uncertain, therapy can offer a space to slow down and begin to make sense of your experience.

As an intern therapist, I support individuals navigating life’s challenges and transitions. I aim to create a space where you feel heard and understood, with attention to how your experiences, identity, and context shape what you’re going through. Together, we can explore what may be holding you back and move toward greater clarity, hope, and resilience.

I have a particular interest in cross-cultural experiences and adjustment, shaped by my own lived experience. This includes immigrants, newcomers, refugees, and those in cross-cultural relationships. I’m attentive to the emotional impact of displacement and resettlement, and I support clients in making sense of these experiences and moving toward greater stability and integration.

My work is guided by evidence-based, strengths-based approaches, informed by my clinical training and experience supporting people in diverse community settings.

    • Master of Psychotherapy (In Progress), Wilfrid Laurier University

    • Emotionally Focused Therapy Externship, ICEEFT (2025)

    • Bachelor of Theology (Intercultural Studies), Heritage College & Seminary (2006)

  • I was born in India, moved to Canada as a teen, and later spent over a decade living in Turkey. Growing up between cultures shaped my understanding of identity and belonging, and living overseas deepened my cross-cultural sensitivity. This background has shaped how I listen, with curiosity and respect, appreciating the complexity and uniqueness of each person’s story.

Much of my experience comes from walking alongside individuals in community and faith-based settings in Canada and overseas. I’ve also supported those facing marginalization and displacement, which has deepened my compassion and awareness of the hardships people carry. In my own life, I’ve experienced the gift of being supported through difficult seasons. These experiences continue to shape and fuel my desire to walk alongside others with empathy and care.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife and our three children. I enjoy cooking, especially as a way to unwind, and sharing in cultural traditions with friends from diverse backgrounds. I also enjoy tennis, nature photography, and games like chess and Scrabble, which draw me into focus and strategy.

  • My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where we can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences and work toward meaningful goals at your own pace.

My approach is collaborative and client-centered, drawing from a range of evidence-based, strengths-based approaches so our work is tailored to you rather than a fixed method. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Positive Psychotherapy. If faith and/or spirituality is meaningful to you, I’m comfortable incorporating it in ways that support your growth.
